Free Cookbook & Kitchen Utensils

Being the creative bargain shopper that I am (thrifty... budget-minded ... frugal even!), I am always jazzed beyond words at the possibility of coupons, freebies and saving a buck or 2. Hey, don't knock it, those bucks add up. We all know how expensive GF cooking is (or any other specialized/allergen-free diets for that matter), so I am ALWAYS on the lookout for a deal. Imagine my excitement when I came across this gem:

Arrowhead Mills is offering a free cookbook AND OXO kitchen tools (woohoo!). Basically the gist is -
collect 3 register receipts or UPCs, get Quick Culinary Creations Cookbook, Oxo Dough Blender and Nylon Whisk (Total Value: $15).
Collect 5 register receipts or UPCs get Quick Culinary Creations Cookbook, Oxo Dough Blender, Nylon Whisk and a 4 cup Angled Measuring Cup (Total Value: $25).

You can read all about it here There is a limit of 3 redemptions per household. NICE!

Product Review: Bob's Red Mill Cinnamon Raisin Bread Mix

Last night I made Bob's Red Mill Cinnamon Raisin Bread mix, per the package instructions. The results are:

somewhat dry
nice cinnamon flavor
slices well
holds up well to spreading some schmear of some sort (I used Tofutti's Better than Cream Cheese)

Prepared according to package directions and eaten as above, here's the nutrition info:
Calories: 242, Carbs: 35g, Fat: 8g, Protein: 3g

Next up: gluten-free granola

Taking the kitchen G-Free

Since I was diagnosed in 2002, I have never had a gluten free kitchen. Bad celiac. I have decided that since I am no longer willing to be sick, the easiest way to accomplish this is to not allow any gluten in my home, period. Enter in the panic on the part of the gluten eaters in the house. *Insert evil laugh* They are just going to have to deal with it, ya know? It's not like I'm forbidding the ingestion of gluten on their parts for the rest of their lives, or asking them to bake their own bread... Yes, there will be bread...

Here are the results of what will from now on be known as "The Clearing of the Kitchen". Oh, there was more, so much more. I couldn't fit it all on my dining room table. My fridge, pantry and freezer are bare. Must. fill. them. up. (I hate having an empty kitchen).
P.S. - No making fun of the paneling. I didn't put it there.
